Silverchair action
By Jonathon Moran (The Sunday Telegraph )
It won't be too long before we hear some new material from the Silverchair boys.
The trio of Daniel Johns, Ben Gillies and Chris Joannou booked out a Sydney studio last week to work on at least six new tracks for the follow-up to 2007's hugely successful Young Modern.
They are also preparing for a string of gigs nationally, during which they will try out their new songs on a live audience.
Silverchair headline the Groove In The Moo festival, which starts in Bendigo on May 1 before travelling to Townsville the following day and Maitland on May 8. The festival will be in Canberra on May 9.
Johns is producing Silverchair's new album on his own, having co-produced Young Modern with Nick Launay. The album is slated for release by year's end.
