POWDERFINGER AND SILVERCHAIR’S ACROSS THE GREAT DIVIDE TOUR EXPANDS FURTHER WITH SECOND SHOWS IN PERTH AND NEWCASTLE ON SALE AND GOLD COAST SOLD OUT!

At 9.00am this morning POWDERFINGER and SILVERCHAIR fans were given their opportunity to be a part of one of the largest Australian tours in decades, and they’ve come out in force!

The first shows in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Wollongong all officially SOLD OUT in approximately 30 minutes, with promoters immediately adding a second dates to meet the high demand.  The Gold Coast Convention Centre show on 2 September also sold out by mid morning as did Newcastle.  A 2nd Newcastle show at the Entertainment Centre on Friday, 26 October will be on sale from 2.00pm today.

Catching up with the time difference in Perth, the promoters are delighted to announce that Perth fans mirrored the capital city sales in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide with the first show selling out within hours of going on sale.  Accordingly, a 2nd show at Perth’s Claremont Oval on Sunday, 23 September will go on sale at 12 noon (WA time)!

Powderfinger's new single, ‘I Don't Remember’ also goes to Australian radio today.  Taken from their brand new double platinum album ‘Dream Days at the Hotel Existence’, ‘I Don't Remember’ is classic Powderfinger - written during pre-production when the band landed in Los Angeles to record.  Quoted during the making of the song in January 2007, Bernard Fanning said "It's a song about making mistakes and trying to reconcile what they were - but then in the end, in the wash up - it doesn't really matter whose fault it was, as long as it gets reconciled".

‘Reflections of a Sound’, the second single from Silverchair's #1 album ‘Young Modern’, will be released digitally on Saturday July 14. The track is bundled with live versions of ‘Straight Lines’ and ‘Mind Reader’ from the group's Carriageworks Album Launch. The iTunes bundle also includes an exclusive live version of ‘Luv Your Life’. The song’s accompanying video is very much a talking piece and is currently receiving significant TV airplay right across the country.
