END OF YEAR ARIA ALBUM CHARTS
Silverchair have kick started 2008 with a bang!
The most successful group in ARIA Award history - topped the 2007 ARIA end of year single charts with “Straight Lines” coming in at #1. “Young Modern” was #4 on the same end of year ARIA album chart.
2007 saw Silverchair cement their rightful place as one of the most acclaimed bands in Australian music history. The band played over 60 shows on a co-headline tour with Powderfinger, they swept the ARIA Awards and now have more #1 albums than any other Australian band. The band’s ARIA Award winning Album of The Year the album “Young Modern” was the fastest seller of their extraordinary career to date.
Silverchair return to the main stage of the Big Day Out which kicks off on the Gold Coast on January 20th. The band’s current single “Mind Reader” is at radio now.

2007 IT LIST AWARDS
Silverchair have been nominated for the 2007 IT List Awards for culture street magazine, POPrepublic.tv.
Now in it’s third year, the IT LIST Awards are going totally digital with 2007 being the first year that ALL voting is to be done online at www.poprepublic.tv
Voting is open now and runs until the end of January with the results announced in the February issue of the magazine.

"THE GREATEST VIEW EP" AVAILABLE NOW ON iTUNES
Silverchair has just released the iTunes exclusive EP entitled The Greatest View EP. The six track collection features the current single "The Greatest View" which was originally on Silverchair's 2003 release Diorama and will be stripped onto 2008 editions of Young Modern plus a remix of "Straight Lines" by The Presets, Two previously unreleased Young Modern B-Sides and two videos. Full track listing is below.
"The Greatest View" is currently receiving major airplay across the country including such stations as Q101/Chicago, 99X/Atlanta, WFNX/Boston, KDGE/Dallas, Sirius, XM and Music Choice.
A little known fact is that Silverchair's lead singer/guitar player and The Presets leader Julian Hamilton are great friends thanks to their Australian roots and similar musical interests. Julian actually co-wrote the smash hit "Straight Lines" along with three other tracks off Young Modern and has been a touring member of Silverchair when he has the time. Julian and Kim from the Presets were also touring members of the Dissociatives - Daniel's 'other band' with Paul Mac. Closing the circle, Daniel contributed guitar work for past Presets records as well as helping write some tunes with them so it's a family affair. Silverchair is on the verge of finishing up the second leg of their sold out US tour before heading back to Australia for the holidays. They will headline that country's Big Day Out tour in January alongside Rage Against The Machine, Bjork and Arcade Fire. Expect to see the band back in the US in early 2008.

HAVE YOU ATTENDED A RECENT US TOUR SHOW?
chairpage.com has a long standing and highly regarded tradition where people send in their experiences from attended Silverchair shows. We call them Road Reports and post them, unedited, to chairpage for everyone to read.
Unfortunately very few Road Reports for the recent US tour in November and December have been received. If you have attended any of these shows please tell us all about it by writing a review and sending it to us. Include if you can anything that happened at the show "out of the ordinary", anything humourous or simply what impacted you the most.

Starting TODAY, the LAS (Silverchair's Official Fan Club) is having its first ever progressive sale. Their beautifully framed limited edition cells from the “Reflections of a Sound” video will be reduced by TEN DOLLARS (AUSTRALIAN) EACH WEEK starting today and continuing for the next eight weeks (unless of course they sell our beforehand!).
For example buy this week and pay $170. Buy the following week and pay $160 and so on (unless sold out beforehand). The advantage of buying sooner, is that you will get the lower numbers which are obviously more valuable and more collectable.
If you buy later, you may get a bargain, but you run the risk of only being left with the higher numbers, or worse still, missing out completely!!
As an added bonus one purchaser each week will be selected at random to received one FREAKBOX that's been PERSONALLY SIGNED BY THE BAND!!!
There was only 200 produced of each cell design, and over half of these have already been snapped up.
These items were produced exclusively by the band for the LAS and there will be no opportunity to purchase these anywhere else.
