STRAIGHT LINES DEBUTS ON VH1
Straight Lines has become the first Silverchair video to ever make the top 20 on hugely influential U.S. music tv channel, VH1. The song debuted at #16 yesterday on their chart thanks to the votes of chairpage readers everywhere. Thanks to everyone for their support so far ... Where will it be next week??? SILVERCHAIR SURFIN' USA
Things are going from good to great for Silverchair in the USA right now.
"Straight Lines" broke into the top 20 most played songs on Modern Rock radio this week and is among the most requested tunes on most of the stations that are playing it. This is already the best U.S. airplay for any Silverchair track since "Ana's Song" got to #12 way back in 1999 and there's plenty more to come. The song has already been added by major HOTAC radio stations like Star 98.7 in LA and The Alice in San Franciso before the song has even formally been serviced to those stations!
The "Straight Lines" video is also picking up major spins on Fuse. It's just been added to MTV2 and it's on the cusp of making the top 20 most requested clips on the all powerful VH1. To vote for Straight Lines on the VH1 countdown please go to www.vh1.com/shows/series/top_20_countdown/vote.jhtml
And meanwhile the album reviews are the best of the band's career with the latest edition of U.S. Rolling Stone awarding Young Modern four stars in a piece by legendary wand respected columnist, David Fricke.
Online, the album has dipped into the top 10 on Yahoo's top albums this week so there's good news everywhere in the States for the chair.

Young Modern Hits North American Charts
Silverchair's new album has debuted at #70 on the Billboard album charts and at #25 in Canada today! Congrat's guys!
Meanwhile, "Straight Lines" is one of the fastest moving songs on the airplay charts at the moment and is set to jump into the US and Canadian top 20 over coming weeks. This bodes well for future chart improvements by Young Modern over coming months.

Melbourne and Brisbane music lovers have thrown down the challenge to the other capitals by becoming the first cities in the country to sell out TWO SILVERCHAIR and POWDERFINGER shows in just 3 weeks. These shows will be the ONLY opportunities for Melbourne and Brisbane fans to see the bands performing in those cities.
The Brisbane Entertainment Centre will host two sold out nights of Across The Great Divide on August 31 and September 1 with the Rod Laver Arena backing up for their two shows on September 18 and 19.
