i hope this is something to be excited about! on ben's twitter today, he said "Good morning world. It's gonna be a good day today!! Some music... Yes please!" and 5 hrs later "For some reason I keep coming up with ideas that sound like there from the 80's" wonder if he's with the band or just goofing off alone??

i'm sure he's referring to supporters on twitter, since i've checked his responses on there periodically and it's mostly people asking about the status of sc, this is the first time he's actually mentioned them! hopefully it's a sign as to what's to come

ew i don't like this! at least if they have no plans to make another album or are broken up, we should know. no use in hoping day in and day out that we get news about the next album if they aren't even considering it...

Apparently, Daniel will be doing a talk at the TEDx Sydney event with the guy he is making the film with.

I reckon there is no activity for a new Silverchair album anymore and that Dan will either revisit the idea of one later this year or do something else musically.

Either way, it's going to be a looonngg time...

I said in the other thread that I suspect the writer of the article put the word "former" in just as a nod to what Daniel was doing prior to the new film project. I don't think Daniel or the band would announce his departure from the band via a random web article. Either way, we'll know things...eventually.

I wish management or someone would give us some info! I don't even mind if the new album is on hold for a year or so. .It's just the not knowing that I think is really annoying! limbo is the worst place! And it would be a little unfair for the dedicated fans to find out that they had split in an article that's not addressing the status of the band! not that they owe us anything (thats not sarcasm.lol.)

I'm guessing the las haven't heard anything? I didn't renew my membership and I don't think I'll bother if they're not getting any news!

Right on, someone else who likes Melissa Auf der Maur! Love her! The new album is pretty good, although the first one is my fave for sure.

Back on topic, I just hope that we get an update. On silverchair, not Ben's psychic wife.

If Daniel is going to speak at that conference though, something tells me the movie going to occupy quite a bit of his time and the album is on hold. I really hope that's not the case, but I'm not holding my breath.

I didn't catch an OOOM show because she mostly toured Europe. The only shows in the States were east coast and the one San Francisco show just showed the movie. I did catch her show in 2004 though, it was beyond awesome. I hope to see her sometime soon!!

Oohh I remember reading an interview back in 2006 or 2007 with jack black and when he was asked who has the pick of destiny he said that Daniel Johns from Silverchair has the pick of destiny. hopefully this means something!

I am trying to remain optimistic, regarding Ben's tweets... Starting to get a little scared, though! I hope Daniel's alright, not leaving his house in 3 months - WTF?!
