Like, some people's lives are soccer, they only talk about it, they get angry if someone doesn't like the team they cheer for, and there are even cases of people killing each other because of it. I am one of the guys who doesn't like soccer and has to listen to everybody saying "you're not Brazilian" or that I'm crazy...

It's the same here in Denmark - only thing is that our national team is crap and always looses :-)

I'm not really into sports much, but the past 5 years I've been really into speedway - which is weird because it's a really 'small' sport and something noone really pays attention to - especially in cities :-). I only have 1 friend who likes it too, but we watch it religiosly together and love it. Everyone thinks I'm weird for liking it, but I don't care!

I didn't know it was like that in Denmark, Brazil has great players but that has a negative effect as well, that is the "dream" in so many poor kids to be a professional soccer player instead of being a doctor or a professor. I simply reached the point of hating watching the news on television because at least 1/4 will be directed to soccer.

That's kind of how Canada is with hockey... Or at least was when I was growing up. I remember when I was six there was only one boy in my class who didn't play hockey. It's not so extreme now, lots of boys play other sports instead of hockey... But more girls play hockey now. ;) But everyone knows how obsessed Canada is with hockey - massive street parties after the Olympic gold medal win.

That said... I think everyone knows I'm all about hockey, specifically the Montreal Canadiens.

American football is the biggest load of crap ever. You just need to have a good arm and be fast. *tempted to show off his Australian Rules Football Biceps*

I bet your fastest player wouldn't be able to beat Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson. With pads he can run over 22mph.

I like to consider myself an equal opportunity sports fan, so a few of my faves are:

Hockey: Chicago Blackhawks
English Premier Football: Manchester United
American Football: Washington Redskins
Baseball: New York Yankees (postseason baby!)
Basketball: Los Angeles Lakers
Tennis: Rafael Nadal

Like most people, I considered it "normal", but I met people who didn't become professional soccer players and they all regret that, having even bigger difficulties on their lives.

:P

Sssss gonna be a great series starting tomorrow night. While I’m rooting for the Yankees, I will admit to being a fan of Cliff Lee and Josh Hamilton. Mucho respect to him for turning his life around after his drug addiction and him hitting 35 home runs in the home run derby a few years back was amazing!

Andrew Bogut. He's from Australia. He plays for the Milwaukee Bucks.
