Since the board is being taken over by Brazilians now, (just kidding, I think it's awesome :) ), does anyone happen to know Gus Monsanto? He's a singer originally from Belo Horizonte. We've been friends with him for many years. He's been in quite a few bands in Brazil and elsewhere. His MySpace page probably has the most info about his music: http://www.myspace.com/gusmonsanto2

I´m from Belo Horizonte and I never heard about him.Anyway, I liked.
Hum...have another band from Belo Horizonte that sound like silverchair a lot! The name is Diesel, if you like frogstomp, you will love Diesel. The band change your name to Udora.

In my city:
YOU LIKE GRUNGE = YOU LOVE UDORA

Diesel - Drain

On the day of silverchair in Rock´n Rio, the band Udora played on the same day:

Diesel - 4D - Live Rock in Rio (2001)

Yes! :D He joined Adagio in 2005 and released an album with them in 2006. I believe he just split with them last year. He's been in quite a few bands. He's such a great guy.

Also, the hubby corrected me about where he was from. He's actually from Petroplis. My bad! Glad you like his stuff mad_man and leelee!

Petropolis, city of Pedro (Peter..!), emperor of Brazil... Established in our country in 1808, while running from Portugal coz was threatened by Bonaparte... It's in the "mountain side" of Rio de Janeiro... there is a palace there, turned into a museum now (royal family museum), and you can catch the prince riding his horse. The prince without a crown coz the monarchy is loooong gone....

Not that it has anything to do with your friend's band, thievings...!
Or any bands whatsoever.
Let me shut the eff up.
Posha kay cosha, Daniel Paul Johns...!

That's great info anna! It doesn't matter if it doesn't have anything to do with the music. It was quite interesting to read and I just got a little bit smarter!

He's not in Adagio anymore?? I didn't know that, anyway, thanks for his myspace link, I'm definitely checking, and tell him there's a "gaúcho" fan (gaúcho is the term for people born here in south of Brazil, WHERE IS COLD :P)

anna, I didn't know that about Petrópolis, I've never been there and now I am certainly visiting it cos I go to Rio de Janeiro sometimes to visit my aunt and uncle, and it's close :D
