Miss You Love was a huge hit here as it was in a Tv show in 2001, so it was the first song that i got into and I kinda liked the boys then, but it was more about their famous songs at the time and, actually, a while after that I wasnt even listening to them that much anymore... also they were like this 'one hit wonder' here in brazil, so we kinda forgot about them for a while [shame, shame!!]

so, about an year ago a friend of mine had a band and they were playing some chair songs, and I was like "alright, I used to like this band, what are they up to now?" so just then I really got into their music... Im totally in love with it now!

thats why I like Miss You Love so much... it reminds me of a simpler time when I was 12 and Malhação were the best show ever!

I am in the orkut community, its great! but I almost never say anything, I like reading the stuff ppl say there though...

I used to post there quite frequently for the past month, but... I'm trying not to do so anymore. If you check the bass in the grass topic over there and read Anna complaining that all people are doing is trashing chair bla bla and that I wont stop enjoying their songs unless they turn into a "pagode" band, well, that's me. =p

oh yeah i saw that... but honestly I haven't read that thread lately... its getting pretty boring this discussions... what I like about there are the albuns reviews and things like that, theyre pretty amazing, I loved reading all of that!

[color=#FFFFFF]I use to use ICQ messenger back in the late 90's. I had this friend Elis from Brazil who was exactly 1 year older and looked like my twin and into silverchair. She said there is a band I think you will like. I went out and bought Neon Ballroom and liked it. Then I got Frogstomp and Freak Show. Fast Forward 2007 I finally got to see them in Washington DC. The rest is history.

I was 17, turned on MTV and ironically enough they were playing a Nirvana song, right after they played tomorrow and I went out the next day in search of Frogstomp...that was 15 years ago and the rest as they say is history.

I remember being young and seeing the video for Tomorrow on MTV...you know, when it actually played music videos and thinking it was such an odd video and being so perturbed by the odd man in the pig mask on the throne. Its something I remembered for years, but I didn't appreciate music for a long time and didn't bother to find out who the band was. I seriously grew a huge appreciation for Silverchair by the time I saw Ana's Song again on MTV many years later. Then it was true love. For the remainder of my days. <3


They've gotten me through a LOT, and it's ridiculous they CONTINUE to get me through shit. I go back and I listen to some of these songs that Daniel wrote when he was younger than I am at this point...it's mind blowing.

I'm sure I would have had a much more in tuned appreciation for them had I been born in Australia though. XD

They barely get any play over here so I was lucky to catch them when I did....interestingly enough they'll sell out shows every single time.

So they definitely have the fans over here, radio stations and television would rather just replay the same overplayed disappointing songs endlessly I guess.

OKAY, First memory of Silverchair was 2002 when they released the Greatest View video clip. I remember it was played heaps on Australian TV. I didn't really know much about the band cos I was about 12-13 at the time. I knew pretty well of Daniel Johns cos of the Dissociatives and he's just a popular figure in Australia. I just remember liking the Greatest View video clip! Haha... Fast forward 2004-05. My friend introduced me to a heap of their songs and over time I began collecting songs here and there from the internet. In 2006 I was pretty much obsessed. I was so peeved when I thought the Chair was over though! Then when they started releasing snippets of the Young Modern recordings I was pleasantly surprised . And yeah. They've been one of my favourite bands for about 3-4 years! I wish I had seen them live during their Across the Night tour. That would have been an amazing show!
