I don't think there will be any more big trends. There's so much more music out there now and it's so easy to get. Everyone will cater to their own tastes...
What's the current big trend? I can't even think of one. That could just be plain old ignorance though. haha

Yeah, I concur. There is no trend now. Except to not buy CDs. That's a trend. But it doesn't say anything about the music. The trend is building massive personal libraries of digital music. The trend is not buying full albums all the time, just buying single songs. Ahhh, that's all I can come up with at the moment. But I can't really think of any standout trends in music except maybe pop...this sort of syrupy pop music that's crap music, but sometimes you can just listen to it because sometimes we like to eat cake instead of something nourishing.

Agreement. And this is the best case scenario
I guess there are trends within the individual styles or scenes.. Overall I'd say electro-pop/synthy dance is the current trend. I think the way you can tell is that any trace of it makes a song sound familiar to such an extent that it hurst you somewhere and you don't know why. Lol.
