Orlando House Of Blues - Dec 1st

Postby Michelle » Thu Nov 15, 2007 6:25 pm

I'm from Costa Rica and I'm flying to Orlando to see Silverchair at the House of Blues.

Silverchair has been my favorite band for years and seeing them live is one of my life dreams, which in my case is kind of far-off since bands almost don't come to Central America. So, I'm giving this to myself as my 24th birthday present :)
I picked this show because it's the closest to me and everything about it fits.
However, I am a little worried because it is a supporting show for Jimmy Eat World (which I love, too!) but I wonder if their show is shorter than their tour show, and if they vary the setlist.
I have also been looking for the setlist of their tour, and I haven't found much, just a couple, but I want more to compare if it's the same on all shows, more or less.

Can anyone answer my doubts?! Thanks!
Michelle

It is more or less the same for all the regular shows. People will probably be posting the lists around here as they roll in. We'll most likely be getting a shorter set though since they're opening. :( I'm seriously worried about what might get cut because I'll be sad to lose ANY of the songs. (Except ROAS, but I know they won't cut that unfortunately.) Here is a re-post of the list from the US shows floating around here so far:

Young Modern Station
Emotion Sickness
Israel's Son
Reflections Of A Sound
Insomnia
Ana's Song (Open Fire)
The Greatest View
Tuna In The Brine or TTB1>SB>TTB2
Straight Lines
The Door
Mind Reader
If You Keep Losing Sleep (encore)
Freak (encore)

So are you flying up here alone or bringing people with you? That's dedication! :)

Thanks!!

That's pretty much the list I've fond, you're right.
I WOULD mind if they cut out ROAS, are you kidding me? I wouldn't mind if they cut out Mind Reader, though!

I would do anything I could to have them play Across the Night! I wonder when was the last tie they've played it. I can't imagine hearing your life-long all-time favorite song live!

I'm flying there by myself and then meeting some friends there. It'll be for or five of us :)

In SD, SF, LA they only did Freak for encore. :(
They started cutting it way short after Anaheim--it was weird.

Anaheim seemed to be the longest, SD a bit shorter and SF and LA were terribly short. I have the security info paper thingy for LA and it has silverchair as down for a 1 hour 15 minute set!!! I just seriously can't believe it. It's effing nuts. I would still go to the shows, even if all of them were that short, but it's like GEEZ. Maybe some of the venues wouldn't allow them to go longer, but IMO if that's the case then for those venues the opening act should be cut down considerably. Furry (haha) still got 45 minutes in LA - only 30 minutes less than silverchair. That's just nuts.

Haha, yet I would care if they cut Mindreader! I agree on ATN though, I would love to hear that live too. We should start an Orlando ATN petition! Have you posted your pic in the multi-media area yet? Come say hi if you recognize me at the show!

If I could ask for one birthday present it would be ATN!
I wouldn't mind if they cut out everything else! I'd fly to Orlando and pay a $350 plane ticket just to sit there, see ATN live and go back home :)

I hope they don't cut it too short, this is my life dream we're talking about!

I haven't posted my pic. Where do I do that?

No no no. They still played IYKLS, but they just played it right before the encore. So when they came back out all they played was Freak. :?

Honestly, since they played IYKLS before the encore, I was hoping that we would get Barbarella since they had been sound checking it. Wishful thinking, I guess.
