I just finished that book! Great read. Crazy to think how music is so involved in our brains. :D

I also just finished Trinity by Leon Uris. It's set in Ireland, mainly northern Ireland, from about 1870 or 1880 to 1915. It follows one character's progression and struggles with life as a Catholic Irishman in an area run by Protestant Scots and English.... It's a very interesting read and drew me in right away. I recommend it! :D

Now I'm starting The Year of the Flood by Margaret Atwood. It's a post-apocalyptic novel set in the world she set Oryx and Crake in. I haven't yet met an Atwood I haven't liked, so I'm optimistic. :)

yeah, i heard Trinity was pretty good, perhaps i'll check it out.

i've been reading a lot of mind bending books lately. The House of Leaves, The Raw Shark Texts and some stuff by Chuck Palahniuk.

Revolution Baby wrote:Yeah I have some kind of obsession with music too. It's amazing, I think that the book has caused me to perceive the world a little bit differently, and I'm only halfway through. Today I focussed on some kid's speed metal that he had playing through his earphones. Tonight I went to a sold out Grizzly Bear concert and I think I got more from it than I normally would. Or maybe they were just extra amazing.

I can relate to that. Music is like any other language. Once you learn how to understand it you get way more from it.

Currently pawing my way through Creative Transformation by John Garcia. I can't tell if he's a genius or some kind of crazy person...
Reaching for that thing.

What are those books about?

I'm always seeing them advertised and reviewed, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest, The Girl Who Got A Fungal Infection On Her Foot...what does it all mean??

Finished The Year of the Flood. AMAZING!!! Highly recommended. I read it in2-3 days. :)

Now I'm reading Nicholski. I'm not even sure what it's about... It was one of the Canada Reads books this year, and the last one I have to read. It seems to be three late teen kids who are all related but don't know... And they all end in Montreal. It's good so far.

Next up: LOTR. Again.

Have you never read that before? It's such a classic and I think it actually was the first novel I ever read!
