I knew this was just around the corner after seeing the RUSSH layout, I even commented in the Sexy Silverchair thread about the lost look in his eyes and how he was only there physically but not emotionally. Not to mention the obvious distance between them whenever they were rarely photographed together in recent times, even going back to May of last year now that I think about it.

I never start threads about his personal life and lately I haven't even been commenting for the most part when someone else does. I guess even though I pretty much have seen it coming for quite some time, it still took me by surprise. The comments I typed above are simply observations I've made. I just hope he doesn't get out of control with the partying again and gets back on track...and back to making some music (that we can actually hear) as soon as he's feeling better.

..I could see it in the Russsh layout too. But it was a rebound, those RARELY work out.
I hope he doesnt go into a downward spiral, but instead takes the opposite and becomes inspired and starts writing an album again!

I never thought I would say this, but I am hoping Daniel does a more raw rock album next time around. With all of the non-music music that is being produced these days, I have been reverting back to Silverchair's older catalog as of late. Even if it's not heavy, I don't care...I would just like to see some integrity in music again...and I think Daniel has what it takes to deliver in this respect.

Well, "Rock album" doesn't mean "Heavy Album".
For example, classic progressive bands (Jethro Tull, Yes, Supertramp...) made melodic Rock albums.

I hope Daniel return to Rock music. And we just talk about his music, not the gossip stuff.

I'm not necessarily into the gossip aspect of it, if I was I would still be posting and commenting on the situation. Believe me, there's still plenty of gossip circulating...especially with Louise running her mouth about their relationship. I'm signed up for google alerts so I can get music news, not gossip. Unfortunately there hasn't been any music news as of late.
I'd love to see him continue in the direction he was talking about during the chair recording sessions, that more progressive rock Brian Eno inspired sound. Brian Eno has made some amazing records that sound like "rock" records without being predictable. I'm really a big fan of his experimental work with David Byrne. Ideally Daniel would make a record where it be more eclectic sounding, by combining the beautiful harmonies, melodies and the amazing vocals he was experimenting with on My Mind's Own Melody with the more out there stuff I described above (which we were able to hear snipnets of) again playing around with different vocals. THAT would be my dream album!

I didn't say Louise was saying negative things about Daniel, I simply said she was running her mouth. Something she's a done in past interviews as well. He on the other hand has not made a single comment about their relationship since it begin nearly four years ago. I'm not posting anymore gossip links, you can look them up by typing in her name. There are even articles posted here on chairpage where she talks endlessly about Daniel, look that up as well if you want proof.
Let's get back to the music, shall we

I don't think we want another "grunge" album.
I'd like to listen a "Rock" album, that doesn't mean "grunge" or "heavy".

I'm a big fan of progressive Rock bands of 70's. King Crimson, Genesis, Emerson, Lake & Palmer.
They were so melodic.

A good example of Rock that is not "heavy" is the proyect called STORM CORROSION. This is a colaboration of Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) and Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth). This proyect almost doesn't have drums...but it's a Rock album.

Lol...are you kidding me?! He's only 9 years older than her. That means he would've had to impregnated someone when he was 8. This board still gives me a good laugh, people are so closed minded and sometimes they have the opinions and mentality of 90 year olds lol
