Yellow Submarine was already a decent mix since it was for radio, all I did was cut the extreme lows and highs to remove the tinny radio quality, and I made the track louder. The distorted bit is due to the radio broadcast, its in the original file as well but less audible because the track dB is lower.

If you have any questions about why i did this or that don't hesitate to ask, please remember that if the recording is not great to begin with (Keep on Rockin for example) there is only so much that can be done to help it. You can remove the bad stuff and thats about it

I havent been on the forums for about 2 weeks, and thought id drop by, not expecting to find much.
Lo and behold, I see this post! Thanks a million Dirtrock and everyone who collaborated!

I think this is a great way to maintain interest in the band and would love to assist in making more live compilations (with artwork at least). My hope is to add them to my collection of official dvd releases.

I think we should seriously ask the question: Is there an issue with sharing live chair songs from the albums?
I know its been done before on these forums without a problem. Purely non for profit and only as a keepsake of a band now in retirement.

It would be really great to work on some 'Silverchair Live at...' movies such as Big Day Out 95, Luna Park 97, Dusseldorf 99 etc etc.

Reino you submitted Sixteen right? That was a good audience recording! I put a low pass filter on the track to cut down on audience noise and to eliminate as much hiss as possible without dulling the music too much, and some compression to stop the kick drum from jumping out so much and it made the recording a bit clearer that way to. Then a Limiter to bring all the tracks up to an even volume. I found the banter tracks did not really benefit from a huge increase in volume because Daniel's mic is too quiet in comparison to the audience during those parts, so I left them a bit quieter...just makes the next song seem more powerful

Faultline_Spine, I wished you'd checked back sooner! I was asking for the last while for someone to do the art but nobody volunteered so the mock Zeppelin I cover was what I came up with. I know Zeppelin is/was a huge influence so I thought what the hell!?
If anyone has any ideas for something like this in the future I'm happy to help, i still check the board everyday and i hope you all do too in the meantime let's keep spreading this boot!!
