The Australian trio silverchair will take the entire year off in 2000 to rest from a grueling 11 month 15 country world tour. The band has been on the road since the beginning of 1999 to promote its third album Neon Ballroom. Despite reports that silverchair was breaking up or retiring, the bands management released a statement saying that the band is looking for a little down time. They have planned to use the time off to write and refuel their creative desires. silverchair has a number of unreleased songs that can be used on soundtracks and compilation material which helped to make this decision a little easier on the group. Remember silverchair fans, they are only 20 years old. They'll be back.
